Welcome to Noise Creator’s New Noise column where we tell you about the best up and coming bands we think everyone will be talking about soon. By Deanna Chapman
Summer Wars have been making waves as an unsigned band from Raleigh, North Carolina. While the band is unsigned, they’ve teamed up with Carry The 4 PR to promote their releases. Back in October, they released Better Days and it garnered quite a bit of attention. They had the title track premiere at Idobi and recently, they released their Acoustic EP. The EP consisted of all of the songs from Better Days in acoustic form plus “Live Defeated,” which premiered on Substream Magazine. The full EP stream can be found at Under The Gun.
The pop-punk band made enough noise with last year’s release to bring themselves more attention with their acoustic songs. Now, I’m a sucker for acoustic songs so it didn’t take much convincing to hear these iterations of them. The band has their identity and sound down to a science. Better Days was energetic and catchy pop-punk and the Acoustic EP brought a little more emotion to those same songs. With the acoustic songs, you can really hone in on the lyrics and enjoy how well the band can write. It’s clear the band has put in the work and it’s baffling that they aren’t signed yet. With the amount of success they’ve had, they’re no doubt impressive.
If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re already a fan of pop-punk music. Do yourself a favor and give this band a listen. The band has some live shows coming up and you can check out those here.
