Jess McPhee (Photographer)


Jess McPhee (born 7th November 1996) is a London-based photographer, writer & musician from Stanley, Falkland Islands. She moved to Chichester, West Sussex in 2012 where she studied A-Level English Literature, Film Studies, Media Studies & Photography. In 2015, Jess moved to North London & is currently studying BA (Hons) Contemporary Media Practice at the University of Westminster where she is specialising in photography & filmmaking. She is due to graduate in summer 2018.

Jess is the rhythm guitarist & press manager of riot grrrl band, Crack Foxes. She is currently the music editor for Parallel Magazine and both writes and shoots for Noizze, When The Horn Blows, FEISTY and house in the sand. Jess has collaborated & worked with Heart of the Falklands, Voxical Photography, Jar Live Music,, Falkland Islands Television, Girls Behind the Rock Show, Ellis Music Magazine, Sofar Sounds London Who Run The World & Loud Women amongst others since beginning her media career aged just 13.

Alongside working with many notable names, Jess has exhibited globally. Her credits include the Falkland Islands Museum & National Trust (2012), Saatchi Gallery (2012), The Mall Galleries (2014). At present, her focus has shifted to working with a variety of signed & unsigned bands while supporting queer people and women in music and expanding into videography.
